Meet Recap

The Saint Joseph Academy crew program had a record-setting performance at the 2017 Midwest Scholastic Championships held in Nashport, OH. The Jaguars finished as the runner-up in the women’s points total competition with 138 points. New Trier HS from Illinois won the women’s competition with 220 points. It marked SJA’s second consecutive runner-up performance at Midwest. In addition, the Jaguars will have three boats advance to the national championship regatta in Camden, NJ in two weeks.

The Jaguar Navy had two boats capture gold medals on the day as the Varsity 4+ boat and the Second Varsity 4+ both took home titles. Three SJA boats also took home silver medals as the freshman 8+ boat, the Lightweight Novice 4+ and the Novice 4+ all came in second place.

Two SJA boats finished with bronze medals as the 2nd 8+ and the 3rd 8+ came in third place in their respective races.
