Saint Joseph Academy senior Annie Rolf has been named Ms. Rugby Ohio by Rugby Ohio. The award is given each year to the top male and female rugby player in the state of Ohio.
Rolf just capped an outstanding four-year rugby career at SJA. On Saturday, she helped lead the Jaguars to their fifth-straight state championship and 7th title overall. In addition, to Rolf winning a state title all four years she was a member of SJA Rugby, she also led the Jags to a national championship in 2016.
This regular season, Rolf led the team in total points (160) and tries (32). She also added four tries in the Jags state semifinal win over Parma and one try in the championship game over Hudson.
Rolf will continue her rugby career next year as she heads to Lindenwood University (St. Charles, MO).
“Annie has been a exemplary player and joy to coach these four years,” said SJA Head Coach Jaime Cleary. “Her commitment to our team and high level rugby is outstanding. We are so proud of how she has performed both on and off the field. Lindenwood is lucky to get her in the fall and we will truly miss her.”
Congratulations to Annie Rolf, Ms. Rugby Ohio 2017!
