Saint Joseph Academy
The Jags rolled to a 4-1 win today over west-side rival Bay. Julie Lorincz quickly got the Jags on the board first with a 6-0, 6-0 victory at second singles. Abby Weaver & Bridget FitzGerald (pictured) picked up their team-leading 11th wins of the season with a 6-1, 6-1 win at first doubles. SJA clinched the win when Mary Kate Kahl was victorious 6-3, 6-1 at third singles.
Bay picked up their only point of the match when Helen Priemer, a former district qualifier, defeated Melissa Martin at first singles. Both players battled through a tight 6-4 first set before Priemer finished strong with a 6-1 second set win. The Jaguars closed out the match with a 6-2, 6-1 win at second doubles by Kerrigan Ponsart & Angela Weiland. The team win moves SJA to 9-2 on the season.
