Meet Recap

The Saint Joseph Academy cross country team finished in fifth place at the district meet on Saturday held in Medina. The Jaguars finished with 100 points to place fifth, just behind fourth place Brunswick (88) and ahead of Magnificat (144), and will advance as a team to next Saturday’s regional meet in Boardman.

The Jaguars were led by sophomore Annie Allen who finished fourth and senior Sydney Seymour (both pictured above) who finished fifth. The key to SJA advancing however were the runs by the third through seventh place finishers for the Jaguars. Senior Caitlyn Walsh ran a great race to finish in 27th place, one place ahead of sophomore Amanda Keim (28th) who had her second-straight strong run at districts. Freshman Bridget Chambers (36th), Danica Hruby (42nd) and Mackenzy Burns (47th) had outstanding performances in their postseason debuts for the Jaguars.
