Girls Junior Varsity Soccer, Girls Varsity Soccer · Cushing, Pedone Named Second-Team All-District; Three Others Honored


The Saint Joseph Academy soccer program is proud to announce All-District awards for five of its members. The teams were selected on Sunday by the district coaches at their annual post-season meeting.

Senior Kady Cushing (left) and junior Sophia Pedone (right) were named Second-Team All-District. Cushing’s tenacious defense coupled with her determination and ability to attack when needed have helped the Jaguars out tremendously the past few seasons.  This is the second year in a row  Cushing has been named to the Second-Team.

Pedone was the Jaguars leading scorer this year, with six goals and one assist. Three of those six goals were game-winning goals for the Jaguars.

Earning honorable mention All-District for the Jaguars were senior Elizabeth Rechin, junior Claire Shepherd, and freshman Ella Maher. Rechin was a varsity captain this year and started all 16 games.  Shepherd has been a member of the varsity team for all 3 years.  She scored one game-winning goal this season and added three assists.  Maher was a great mid-season addition coming up to varsity as she scored four goals in addition to having three assists.
