For the third time in school history, Saint Joseph Academy cross country is the OHSAA regional champion. The Jaguars went to the Division 1 Boardman Regional meet and came away with their first regional title since 2002. The Jaguars won back-to-back titles in 2001 and 2002.
The Jaguars’ depth led them to the title on Saturday. The top five runners for SJA all finished in the top 51 overall. They were led by senior Annie Allen who finished 7th. Fellow senior Amanda Keim was 20th, Carlee Blankenship was 39th, Marie Musser 41st and Danica Hruby 51st. Emma Hvizdos was 61st and Ali Blouch was 64th.
The Jaguars finished with 130 points to top Medina (2nd), Hudson (3rd), Shaker Heights (4th), Brunswick (5th), Mentor (6th), Jackson (7th) and Howland (8th) who all advanced to the state meet.
