The Saint Joseph Academy gymnastics team competed in the inaugural Catholic Cup hosted by Magnificat on Saturday. The team placed fourth overall but had many individual highlights throughout the meet. Senior Emma Weiss placed second on beam with a 9.1, posting her highest beam score of her high school gymnastics career! Senior, Sofie Buckley scored an 8.65 on vault which was a tie for fourth and freshman Abby Synk performed a new vault, scoring an 8.6, tying for fifth place. Emma placed sixth on bars, and Sofie sixth on beam. Freshman Elizabeth Quinn also performed a new tumbling pass on floor and freshman Abbie Harden continues to improve in the all around. The gymnastics team was pleased to have so many members from the Saint Joseph Academy faculty and administration in attendance supporting them in their first ever Catholic Cup! The team will compete at the sectional tournament on Saturday morning at West Geauga….good luck!
