The SJA gymnastics team competed at Berea-Midpark this afternoon with Magnificat, North Ridgeville, and individuals from Bay, Rocky River, and Firelands. Abby Synk led the team capturing the all around title. Abby tied for 1st on bars, placed 2nd beam, and 4th on bars. Sophomore, Lauren Weisenseel won the vault title with a 9.2, placed 4th all around, and 5th on bars and floor. Allison Petrasek, sophomore, hit a nice beam routine taking 5th place but was limited on her other events due to injury. Freshman, Natalie Jones contributed to the team score in 3 of 4 events with a solid and consistent score in each of these events. Junior, Abbie Harden contributed on both vault and floor while freshman Paige Schilens competes the all around for the Jaguars and continues to provide consistency while making improvements to her routines. Freshman, Maddie Jarc and sophomore Annie Dubecky both competed for SJA and are continuing to work upgrades to increase routine difficulty. As a team, the Jaguars continue to improve their overall team score and placed second this afternoon to Berea-Midpark with Magnificat placing 3rd and North Ridgeville taking 4th. Way to go girls!
