The Saint Joseph Academy bowling team has advanced as a team to the OHSAA Division 1 District tournament thanks to a 3rd place performance today at the sectional tournament. The district tournament will be held on Sunday, February 23 at 12:00 p.m. at Stonehedge Lanes in Akron. This is the second time in three years that the Jaguars have advanced as a team to the district level.
The Jaguars finished with 2878 pins to finish third behind Kenston (3291) and Mentor (3079). SJA was 64 pins ahead of fourth-place Solon.
Senior Lizzy Rajnicek had the scratch game high for SJA as she rolled a 479. Sophomore Abby Kovacic had the high game of the day for the Jaguars with a 178 in game three.
The Jaguars saved their best of six baker games for last as SJA posted a 144 to seal their spot in the district tournament.
