The Jaguar tennis team closed out the regular season with a 3-2 loss at Walsh Jesuit. The Jags were led by Grace Kamis ’21 who moved into the singles lineup for her final match and came away with a 6-2, 6-4 victory. Delia Guzic ’23/Mary Kate Kahl ’21 won a battle of district qualifiers with a 6-3, 6-7 (5-7), 10-8 win at first doubles. The duo won the final five points of the match to rally from an 8-5 deficit late in the third set tiebreaker.
Tyler Schuerlein ’23 stepped into the top singles spot and played well in a 6-2, 6-3 loss to district qualifier Emma Kealy. Shannon Gardner ’22 made her varsity debut and played a great second set in a 6-1, 7-5 loss. Margot Rechin ’23 also made her varsity debut at second doubles with Catherine Mayer ’21. The Jaguars close the regular season at 15-4 and will be back in action on Thursday at the NE Division I District Tourney.
