The Saint Joseph Academy Varsity Soccer team fell to Mentor High School in the District Semi-final by a score of 2-1.

In the first half, the Jaguars started off on the front foot pinning the Fighting Cardinals in their own half.  The Jaguars were unable to create any clear chances on goal and the Fighting Cardinals gradually worked their way back into the game. After a highly competitive first half, the score was 0-0.

In the second half, Mentor High School started the half off strong. The Fighting Cardinals were able to create a couple of chances and took the lead mid-way through the second half.  Mentor High School was able to double their lead five minutes later. Showing determination and resilience, the Jaguars began to fight their way back into the game as they forced the Mentor goalie to make a great save and hit the crossbar on a corner kick.  The Jaguars were able to score a goal after a great pass from Katie Sandy '26 found Morgan Papp '27, who shot the ball off the inside of the post to make the score 2-1 with 6 minutes remaining.

The Jaguars were unable to find the equalizer and saw their season end as the clock ran out of time. Thank you to all the fans that came out to support the Jaguars in the cold, windy, and rainy conditions.  And thank you to our Soccer Seniors for all of their dedication and hard work!
