Jaguars Finish Second in Midwest Scholastic Girls Sweep Team Points Championship

The Jaguars competed at the 2026 Midwest Scholastic Championship Regatta on Saturday, May 9th and Sunday, May 10th held at Kent Lake in Milford, MI. SJA was entered in 9 events. The Jaguars were competing against over 50 teams from nine states. 

Saturday’s time trials and semi finals were run in challenging conditions of rain and wind. Despite the adverse weather conditions, the team advanced 8 of 9 entries to Sunday’s Grand Finals and one entry to the Petite Finals. 

Under sunny skies, the Jaguars had strong races on Sunday in the Finals. When the day ended, the team earned four top three finishes including a Championship in the Second Varsity 4+ for the second year in a row. The team qualified three boats for the SRAA National Championship Regatta to be held at the end of May in Oak Ridge, TN. Qualifying boats include: Varsity 4+, Junior 8+, and Junior 4+. 

With strong racing from the entire team in Sunday’s Grand Finals, the Jaguars finished as Girls Sweep Team Runner-up for the second year consecutive year. 

A special shoutout and thank you goes out to the entire team, especially the Senior Class. The focus, leadership, and commitment from the Class of 2026 was much appreciated. 

The team will close the 2026 Spring Season at the SRAA National Championship Regatta on May 22nd and 23rd in Oak Ridge., TN.
