Saint Joseph Academy Soccer Ties NDCL on Senior Night

The Saint Joseph Academy Varsity Soccer Team took on Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin on Senior Night. The Jaguars battled the rain and very persistent opponent to a 4-4 tie.

In the first half, both teams went back-and-forth as the rain steadily picked up. The Jaguars scored first on a headed corner goal from Senior Myla Drobnick '26 and assisted Reese Koishor '28. NDCL equalized with 12 minutes remaining in the half. One minute later, SJA regained the lead on another headed corner goal from Senior Myla Drobnick '26 and assisted by Reese Koishor '28. With 8 minutes remaining in the first half, NDCL equalized again. The halftime score was 2-2.

In the second half, the rain picked up and NDCL took their first lead of the game only 3 minutes into the half. With 13 minutes remaining, SJA equalized as Olivia Jennings '28 cut on the endline and played a pass to Morgan Papp '27 for the finish. With 4 minutes remaining in the game, NDCL took the lead again. The Jaguars were able to equalize with 2 minutes remaining in the game as Morgan Papp '27 turned provider for Olivia Jennings '28. The rain kept falling, but the game ended tied 4-4.

The Saint Joseph Academy Varsity Soccer Team is now 9-3-2 on the season. The Varsity Jaguars will return to action on Saturday, September 27, 2025 against Shaker Heights High School. The game will be played at Shaker Heights High School and is scheduled for a 7 PM kickoff.
