The Saint Joseph Academy Varsity Soccer Team returned to winning ways after a hard fought and highly competitive game against the undefeated Beaumont Blue Streaks. The final score was 3-2.
In the first half, Beaumont took an early lead off a corner kick. The Jaguars responded quickly to tie the game at 1. Morgan Papp '27 played an excellent through ball to Olivia Jennings '28, who put the ball in the back of the net.  Five minutes later, Olivia Jennings '28 earned a penalty kick for the Jaguars. The PK was converted by Maria Davis '28, which gave the Jaguars a 2-1 lead.  The Blue Streaks were able to tie the game at 2 goals a piece in the final two minutes of the first half.
In the second half,  both teams competed to a high level and created several opportunities. For the Jaguars, Gwen Gaydosh '28 made several important saves to keep the Jaguars in the game.  The decisive goal was scored by Morgan Papp '27, who received a pass from Emma Mittendorf '28, beat her defender and calmly put the ball past the Beaumont goalkeeper.
Congratulations to Gwen Gaydosh on her first Varsity start and win as a Goalie.
The Saint Joseph Academy Soccer program will next travel to Tennessee for the Smoky Mountain Cup.
