The Junior Varsity Team also traveled to Gatlinburg to compete in two matches over the weekend. In the first match, they
squared off against Station Camp HS (TN) in the Smoky Mountain Cup. The Jaguars were defeated by a score of 2-0.
In the first half, the Jaguars played well and at times dominated portions of the match. The Jaguars saw a couple of chances go wide and one shot hit the crossbar, but they were unable to capitalize on the momentum. Station Camp was able to score right before halftime to take a 1-0 lead.
In the second half, the Jaguars missed a breakaway and had a couple more opportunities miss the mark. Station Camp capitalized on a corner to double their lead.

They also fought hard but fell in their second match of Smoky Mountain Cup against Arlington HS. The final score was 2-1.
The Jaguars dominated the first half. The Arlington goalkeeper made several saves to prevent the Jaguars from taking the lead. The score was tied 0-0 at halftime.
The Jaguars continued to push for the breakthrough, which came from Gwen Gaydosh '28 and was assisted by Alayah Reese '29.  However, the momentum of the match flipped and the Jaguars were never able to recover. Arlington scored the equalizer halfway through the second half and then took the lead 2 minutes after that.
The JV Soccer team's record is now 5-3-1. Their next match will be at Mentor High School on Wednesday, September 17th.  Kickoff is scheduled for 5 PM.
